Kevin and are in the "sucks" category. Even though we love Ben Stiller (director of this flick), Owen Wilson, and Will Ferrell. The movie has its moments. Although I think Something About Mary (Farelly brothers flick) is superior. Zoolander is too esoteric. It's got these fashionista sterotypes that you don't run into every day, so they're hard to appreciate. Something about Mary speaks more universally. As Homer Simpson would say, "It's funny because it's TRUE." Haven't we ALL got our penises stuck in our zipper on prom night?? Anyways, did Sunday influence you to think about Zoolander?? It's one of her favorite comedies. She refuses to watch Jim Carrey, who is my favorite.
i agree. it has a couple funny moments. but overall, its pretty darn stupid.
Well, I did like There's Something About Mary a fair amount, but as I think I've said to you before, I'm just not that into gross-out comedies. If something in a movie makes my stomach turn--as Farrelly films are wont to do--I often don't like it. But if I remember, they were fairly restrained in TSAM, and I had a good time at that movie. At least, there certainly was nothing in that movie that was as bad as the "irritable bowel" sequence in Along Came Polly (not Farrelly brothers, but Ben Stiller).
And no, I just thought of Zoolander all by myself. Elise also loves Zoolander, by the way.
Thanks for your support, Josh. Glad to hear I'm not alone.
